About the Event
During this course you will learn how to create your own stunning gathered lampshade. Working on the frame provided you will learn how to bind the frame, measure and hand stitch the fabric into place. You will be shown how to trim your shade to give a lovely professional finish.
Frame, binding tape and lining are provided. Frame size is 25.5cm (10")bottom ring,12.5 (5")top ring and 18cm (7") high.
Cotton lawn lining in a choice of white or off white.
You will need: A piece of your own fabric. Thin cottons are best, (eg. cotton lawn), thread to match your fabric and any trim you wish to use. Size of fabric required for shade is 125cm minimum width by 25cm high. If you wish to create a bias trim for your shade in the same fabric, a meter of standard width fabric will be required in total.
Sewing kit: including plenty of glass head pins, a good pair of scissors and thimbles.
The workshop takes place at St Mary's church rooms, Painswick, on Saturday the 24th of February.
Cost £140
Please note that this course requires a lot of hand sewing.
